Leading mobile maker LG will introduced new wrist watch phone, LG GD910, it first market-ready 3G touch Watch phone with 3G Video Telephony (VT) service and GSM Quadband Network capabilities. The LG GD910 wrist watch phone was showcased in early 2009, in the Mobile World Congress, and was expected to hit the market earlier in 2009. LG-GD910 price would be approximate Rs. 49,990.
“This Watch Phone is the result of a great deal of research and development, something that is very important to us at LG. We will continue to invest in creating innovative new products and technologies like this and setting trends in the mobile phone industry,” Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, had said in January 2009.
The futuristic looking LG GD910 wrist watch phone comes in a wrist watch form factor. It has wrist watch phone compatible features like Bluetooth headsets, so you don’t have to speak into your wrist.
The LG GD910 wrist watch phone, that is 13.9-mm thick, has an 1.4-inch touchscreen and 3G capabilities.
The phone comes with an MP3 player, built-in speakers that allow users to play back music files , and text-to-speech capabilities for messaging.
The LG GD910 wrist watch phone features 7.2 Mbps 3G HSDPA for high-speed data transmission and video phone calls.
As for the price of the LG GD910 wrist watch phone, although the precise details have yet to be released, some reports say that the price tag will be somewhere around £1,000.
Other feature-rich wrist watch phones in the market include phones, such as the Epoq EGP-WP98B.
The slim and stylish phone that runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 Operating System, features an OLED display touchscreen, in a stainless steel body and an alligator skin-embossed strap.
The Epoq EDP-WP98B comes with a QUAD-Band GSM mobile radio set, multimedia messaging, built-in stereo blue-tooth transmitter, and GPRS mobile internet at 2.7G speed.
