We blogged about the fact that Airtel was soon to launch the iPhone 3GS in India. Now the dates are out and the phone shall be launched on the 26th of March.
So while the launch of the phone is great it comes at an exorbitant price tag as well which may not go down well with most tech savvy users in India. In the US the same phone costs 199$ and 299$ which translates to Rs.10,000 and RS.15,000 respectively though as pointed out in the comments this comes with a lock in period in the US nevertheless its still a low upfront cost to pay to own an iPhone. But The iPhone 3GS in India available from Rs. 35,500* for the 16GB model and Rs 41,500* for the 32GB model. Airtel iPhone 3GS customers will enjoy 500 MB of free data every month for a year from the date of their iPhone 3GS activation.
